Open House Athens 2023

If you often catch yourself wishing you could step inside some of the beautiful neoclassical  or contemporary buildings in Athens, this one’s for you. Open House Athens is back for another edition, opening the doors to some of the city’s most cherished architectural gems. The free volunteer-run tours are wildly popular, so it’s wise to check which buildings you want to visit in advance and start your architectural journey early in the day. This year’s edition includes 63 buildings amongst which are some of the city's most popular galleries such as Allouche Benias and Gagosian, neoclassical and contemporary cultural centres such as Zappeion Megaron, Onassis Library and the Athens Conservatory, as well as a number of stylish private residences, offices and industrial spaces.

Open Walks is also held on the same two days. This year, the walks focus on Byzantine architecture in Athens, and the affluent suburb of Kifissia with its historic mansions.

Open House is a global institution for the promotion of architecture. The event takes place in Athens for the 10th time this year. In addition to its main two-day schedule, OHA will also be hosting “MADE in Athens” on the 30th and 31st of March, with factory tours and workshops led by artisans and producers.
