The works of art date all the way from pre-historic to post-Byzantine times. The collectors’ preference for clay, marble, and stone vessels gives the core collection an interesting depth.

The terracotta figurine of a muse playing the lyre from a group of 4th Century BC statuettes.

Fun fact

The new wing incorporates the ruins of a mediaeval residence that touched upon the outer fortification walls of the Acropolis.
